Breach

Breach is part of a collection of whale paintings inspired by the sighting whales off our beautiful coastline in Australia. This artwork can be viewed as abstract ocean colours and yet it is also an aerial view of an awe inspiring breach and spin of a whale and all her force as she returns from play to the depths of the ocean. Researchers suspect that breaching, along with other loud surface behaviors like tail slapping and flip waving and slapping, are ways to communicate with other whales—underwater, the splash can be heard for miles —whatever the reason, sighting a whale is an uplifitng and mesmorising experience.
